This weekend is a lit one! From indulging in all things fried chicken and beer, to being amazed at flying circus acts, to laughing your a** off, you won’t be able to choose just one. Plus, if you’re going to be in the A for the big Saints vs Falcons games, I’ve got you on events out there. Tap into my event picks of the weekend and have fun!

ALL WEEKEND

UniverSoul Circus – The multicultural circus ends its stint in New Orleans this weekend. Located at the Old Lake Forest Plaza on Read Boulevard, the circus features music, theater, circus arts, and much more. Plus, this year, the circus is celebrating 25 years. Free Parking is available at the UniverSoul Circus. Limited ADA parking.

NOLA Horror Film Fest – Created by horror filmmakers for fans who love all things horror, the festival began on Thursday and will carry on until Sunday, featuring featured films, parties, and closing out with an awards ceremony.

New Orleans Burlesque Fest – Burlesque dancers from all over the world will congregate in the Big Easy for the 10th annual festival. The weekend will consist of international dancers performing three nights, comic emcees, singers, variety acts, and workshops. One top classic striptease dancer will be crowned the “Queen of Burlesque.”

Local Haunted Houses are open! This weekend, two local haunted houses open for Halloween season. New Orleans Nightmare (opens 9/21) & The Mortuary (opens 9/22)

National Fried Chicken Fest – On Saturday & Sunday, the third annual festival is going down along the river at Woldenberg Riverfront Park and will feature 35 restaurants, two music stages, featuring Mannie Fresh, Shamarr Allen, and more, and a cooking demo stage. FREE. Saturday: 11A – 9P; Sunday: 11A – 8P.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 21

Wild ‘N Out – Nick Cannon brings his MTV show to New Orleans live at the Smoothie King Center. Unfortunately, tickets are sold out.

Museum Day – Hosted by the Smithsonian Magazine, Museum Day is an annual celebration where museums and cultural institutions across the country participate in providing free entry. 29 museums in Louisiana are participating. All you have to do is choose a museum from the list (link) and download a ticket that will grant free admission for two people into the museum.

NOLA on Tap Beer Fest – This right here is one of my favorites. It’s the largest beer fest in the region, and the largest fundraiser for the Louisiana SPCA. From 12 – 7P, beer lovers can enjoy 400+ local, national, and home-brewed beer, live music, food, contests, art, games, and much more. The fest will also feature non-beer drinks and is dog-friendly.

Taylor Swift – Taylor Swift brings her Reputation Stadium Tour to the Superdome. Special guests Camila Cabello and Charli XCX will open the show. 7P. Tickets are still on sale.

Shamarr Allen Release Party – The musician will host his True Orleans release party with special guests Big Freedia, Hot 8 Brass Band, and more. 8:01P.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 23
HWG Saints vs Falcons Party

Saints vs Falcons – This Sunday, Saints fans will be rooting for the home team to take down the dirty birds in their first game of the season. If you’re going to be in ATL for the game, here are some hot events by our local promoters to get into.
